Organization Name: Waad Murad Advocacy Fund
Organization Overview: The Waad Murad Memorial Advocacy Fund supplies a minimum of $10,000 reward money for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the assailant(s) of violent crimes perpetuated against businesspeople. In the event of a violent crime, the group mobilizes immediately to publicize the reward and details of the crime, keeping the event fresh in the news and helping to generate leads for the police to pursue. By working with CrimeStoppers, the fund helps bring justice in the victim’s name and closure to family members.
The Advocacy Fund is named in memory of Waad Murad, a founding member of the Chaldean American Chamber of Commerce. Murad was murdered at his business, Metro Car Company in Detroit on March 17, 2005. In Metro Detroit, nearly 100 Chaldean Americans have been killed at their place of business.
If you have information on a violent crime, please contact the Chaldean Community Foundation at (248) 996-8340.
The Free press would like to speak with Chaldean friends and families who have lost a loved one to workplace violence in Metro Detroit, with regards to those deaths that have not been solved.
