Organization Overview:  Through year-round instruction, the English Language Institute (ELI) curriculum helps to expedite the learning and language development of foreign students by offering them five four-hour days of intensive language study five days a week or a 2.5 hour evening session, four days a week. The program has helped 92% of second language speakers of English achieve their goals effectively as well as efficiently increase their English language proficiency for academic and professional purposes. All classes are limited to fifteen students. The ELI has year-round programs with open enrollment and a tuition that is noticeably lower than that of similar programs in the Detroit area. ELI teachers are highly qualified, enthusiastic, and supportive of student needs and time restraints. We offer students state-of-the-art computer-assisted instruction and multiple opportunities to further their education and explore employment opportunities that coincide with their educational goals. All students in the Language Institute will qualify for a Certificate of Attendance awarded for completion of all required hours of study and a Certificate of Achievement to verify academic achievement at each level of study completed.

Organization Overview:  Welcome to IC Schools Your interest in Immaculate Conception Catholic Schools shows that your priority is assuring a quality faith-based education for your child. When your son or daughter enters Immaculate Conception Schools (K-8), you may be assured that your child will receive a superior education. IC’s Elementary School (Kindergarten to Grade 6) and IC Academy (Grades 7 and 8), including all day Kindergarten, were characterized by the Accreditation Team from the Michigan Non-Public School Accreditation Association as “an excellent educational opportunity” and that our “teachers promote excellence in all facets of the educational process”. IC students consistently score well above the national average on the Iowa tests, further confirming these independent findings. The 2013 IOWA test results indicate that our fifth, sixth and seventh graders are achieving over two years past their grade level. For example, our fifth graders are at a seventh grade level for more than two subject areas. The scores throughout all of the grades reflect our schools’ academic excellence and ability to inspire students to achieve at their highest abilities. As you can see, your child will be entering a school where academic excellence is part of the culture. IC is registered with and adheres to the education guidelines of the Detroit Archdiocese Department of Education. Your child will attend a technologically advanced school. At Immaculate Conception, your child enters a school fully networked and on-line, a computer lab with 30 stations, computers in every classroom with Smart Board/Internet Technology, as well as a modern science laboratory and a state-of-the-art gymnasium. Your child will benefit from dynamic, daily faith formation through religious education. There is a dedication among the faculty and staff to instill in our students the tenets of Catholicism and an appreciation for tradition and heritage. IC is proud of its faith based family environment, religion program under the guidance of Basilian Fathers, weekly Divine Liturgies, monthly confessions, First Holy Communion, Christmas play and concert, Lenten and other retreats, Baccalaureate Mass, community service and other formal and informal opportunities for our students to put into practice their Catholic faith.Your child will be surrounded by a community of students, faculty, staff, and parent volunteers who value each other; Immaculate Conception nurtures students in a caring school community. Immaculate Conception Catholic Elementary and Academy School is a private co-educational school directed by the religious order of Saint Basil the Great. The clergy from both Immaculate Conception Ukrainian Catholic Church and St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Church are available for both group and individual guidance for the students. Come and see what all the hype is about! Please call us at (586) 574-2480 for a facility tour, talk to our parents, and visit us during our regular school hours or community events. We are looking forward to seeing you soon! “Community is at the heart of all Catholic education, not simply as a concept to be taught, but as a reality to be lived. … Your students will learn to understand and appreciate the value of community as they experience love, trust and loyalty in your schools and educational programs, and as they learn to treat all persons as brothers and sisters created by God and redeemed by Christ.” Spoken by his Holiness, Pope John Paul II, in a speech to elementary, secondary and religious education leaders in New Orleans, Louisiana, September 12, 1987
