Organization Overview: The mission of Sri Venkateswara Temple and Cultural Center, Novi, Michigan (SVTCC) is to:
Maintain a formal place of worship for the practice of Hindu religion, with Lord Venkateswara as the main deity of worship.
Promote religious, moral and spiritual growth for children, adults and seniors based on Hindu scriptures.
Provide a place for all regardless of the ethnicity and background to practice and learn about Indian culture, traditions and values.
SVTCC will accomplish its Mission through the following activities:
Prayer sessions, worshiping of deities, pujas, religious ceremonies
Sunday school classes on Hindu scriptures pertaining to religious culture, and moral values
Programs for adult spiritual growth including readings
Celebration of Indian cultural and religious festivals, events and days
Opportunities for youth leadership, mentoring, and volunteerism
Purpose of building a South Indian temple in Novi is:
To serve communities of Southeast Michigan
To have a local, safe and easy-access place for regular worship and fellowship
To inculcate Hindu values and culture to our family life
To instill pride in Indian heritage within our youth
To grow pride and confidence within our community through a center that represents our interests
To support humanitarian and charitable causes that support educational and socioeconomic development of the needy
To establish and maintain a cultural and community center to promote various Indian languages, arts and culture
To encourage inter-religious activities to promote understanding of different religions, cultures and ethnic heritages
To encourage and promote religious functions and activities that improves understanding of Hindu religion and culture by Hindus and non-Hindus.
