Iraqi GirlToday, Life for Relief and Development has become the largest U.S.-founded Arab American humanitarian relief and development organization. Life is devoted to providing humanitarian aid to people regardless of race, color, religion and cultural background with an annual budget of over $60 million. Life is in Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. It is also a member of InterAction, the largest alliance of US based NGO’s and is Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) certified and has a 4-star Charity Navigator rating which is the highest rating for a non-profit organization. Life is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Over the past 22 years, Life has been able to distribute over $300 million in humanitarian assistance throughout the world. Life works diligently to help the poor and needy in a number of countries such as Afghanistan, Ghana, Haiti, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Pakistan, the Palestinian Territories (through our office in Israel), Sierra Leone, Syria, and the US as well as others. When natural disasters occur whether here or around the world, Life rushes to answer the call of humanitarian duty, and provides basic humanitarian assistance. Organization Overview:  Owned by People's Community Services (PCS), the H. Irving Mayson Hamtramck Center is a large facility with many resources for the community. Located on the south end of Hamtramck, a diverse community of long-time residents and recent immigrants, the center also has several classrooms used for arts and crafts, adult education and meetings. A large common room with comfortable seating houses pool tables, foosball and ice hockey tables. This room can also be set up for large meetings or used as a dining area to the adjacent full kitchen and pantry area. Community members also enjoy our full indoor gym and basketball court. More than 250 youth use the center each year and enjoy great programs such as the Youth Stay In School Initiative and many dynamic summer programs. ACCESS (Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services) has an office onsite. This center also provides basic needs services for community members most in need including food assistance, clothing, employment, shelter, medical, and transportation. PCS has amazing success in being a resource for all ethnic groups in this area and encouraging participation from individual groups as well as dialogue between groups.

FREE Walk-in clinic every Tuesday, Thursday Cabrini Clinic provides a holistic approach toward meeting the primary health care needs of economically disadvantaged residents of Southwest Detroit and beyond. We serve those who fall through the medical-social safety net and help them connect with basic resources. We offer education, prevention, and treatment without charge, but with deep compassion and respect for the people we serve and their needs. Cass Clinic serves everyone, regardless of insurance or immigration legal status On Saturday mornings, WSU medical student volunteers actively engage in health care services at the Cass Clinic located in the downtown area. The purpose of the Cass Student Health Clinic Program is to provide opportunities for WSU medical students to gain true "hands-on" experience in procedures and patient care under the guidance of an attending physician. The Cass Health Care Clinic focuses primarily on providing medical care to a medically indigent population living in the university/medical center area. The Cass Student Health Clinic Program is sponsored by the Aesculapians.
