Organization Overview:  The Vietnamese American Association of Michigan (VAAM) was established in 2008, through a public election by Vietnamese Americans in Michigan. VAAM is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization under the Internal Revenue Code. VAAM’s mission is to preserve the Vietnamese culture and heritage, to assist underprivileged Vietnamese Americans with healthcare, social and civic issues, and to accelerate the integration process into the mainstream American society.

This is the only health center in Hamtramck that serves residents regardless of their insurance or ability to pay. Hours are Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., and Wednesday from 11 a.m. -7:30 p.m. Appointments can be made by calling 313-365-1362.

Organization Overview:  Cass Clinic is a free clinic dedicated to fulfilling the healthcare needs of the underserved population of Detroit by providing them with quality medical care and free prescription medications. Cass Clinic serves everyone, regardless of insurance or immigration legal status On Saturday mornings, WSU medical student volunteers actively engage in health care services at the Cass Clinic located in the downtown area. The purpose of the Cass Student Health Clinic Program is to provide opportunities for WSU medical students to gain true "hands-on" experience in procedures and patient care under the guidance of an attending physician. The Cass Health Care Clinic focuses primarily on providing medical care to a medically indigent population living in the university/medical center area. The Cass Student Health Clinic Program is sponsored by the Aesculapians. Cass Clinic operates on Saturdays from 9:00am-Noon with the help of Wayne State University Medical Students and an attending physician.

Organization Overview:  The West Michigan Asian American Association, Inc. is a Michigan nonprofit corporation that seeks to build a collaborative, active, and committed Asian American community in West Michigan with a focus on healthcare, education, and empowerment. In pursuit of its mission and vision, the WMAAA’s current programs and activities include a scholarship program, networking events, presentations and performances that promote appreciation for Asian culture, speaking engagements that promote greater awareness of healthcare issues affecting the Asian-American community, a patient navigation system, and other programs and activities that further its strategic objectives. The WMAAA board of directors, its officers and the members of the committees that run its projects and activities are all volunteers of diverse backgrounds who have committed to promoting the spirit of collaboration and stewardship in the community. The WMAAA’s Advisory Board is envisioned to be composed of representatives of these community organizations, including, the Asian Center of West Michigan, Indialink, Chinese Association of West Michigan, Inc., Vietnamese Association of Grand Rapids, West Michigan Filipino American Association, Inc. and the Philippine Cultural Group of Michigan, Inc. The WMAAA is 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization.
