Cristo Rey Community Center is a 501(C)(3) basic-needs service provider with an emphasis on access to food, medical care and mental health services. CRCC was opened in 1968 to help meet the needs of the poor, the vulnerable, immigrants, migrants, and all people in need regardless of language or culture. It is the purpose of Cristo Rey Community Center (CRCC) to serve the vulnerable populations within our community by offering need-based services with an emphasis on access to food, medical care and mental health services. It is the vision of CRCC to break the cycle of poverty and advocate for self-sufficiency by offering critical services to our community. CRCC understand that the roots of poverty are oftentimes embedded in more than just temporary difficulties; for this reason CRCC offers a wide range of essential services designed to meet the differing needs of families, seniors, children and all individuals in need. All CRCC services are critical resources for basic-need fulfillment in addition to being a resource/referral source for other onsite safety-net programs. This structure allows for increased awareness and access to medical, mental health, addiction treatment and prevention services for underprivileged, underserved and vulnerable populations. Organization Overview:  T​he Islamic Center of Mount Pleasant (ICMP) is the only Islamic center in central and north Michigan State. The center was established in the 1980s by a group of Muslim students under the umbrella of the Muslim Student Association (MSA).  The ICMP conducts various religious, educational and social activities on a continuous basis throughout the year, such as daily and weekly prayers, dinners and BBQs, Arabic and Islamic lessons, and recreational sport matches. The ICMP and MSA's two main goals are to bring the Muslim community closer together ​and educate the non-Muslims about Islam. They also strive to create harmony between all religions and faiths, and establish a strong sense of community between the residents of Mount Pleasant.  The center is open for all Muslim and non-Muslim community members, and welcomes all the students of CMU and the visitors of the town too.

Organization Overview:  Legal Services of South Central Michigan (LSSCM) provides free legal advice and representation in certain civil cases to approximately 10,000 low income persons and senior citizens (regardless of income) each year. We provide general civil legal services to low-income and senior citizens of Barry, Branch, Calhoun, Clinton, Eaton, Hillsdale, Ingham, Jackson, Lenawee, Livingston, Monroe, Shiawassee, and Washtenaw Counties. We also provide legal services to senior citizens of St. Joseph County. We also operate two statewide programs - Farmworker Legal Services (FLS), which provides services to migrant and seasonal farm workers and the Michigan Poverty Law Program (MPLP), which provides case consultation, training, technology and other support to local legal services programs throughout the state. Organization Overview:  Owned by People's Community Services (PCS), the H. Irving Mayson Hamtramck Center is a large facility with many resources for the community. Located on the south end of Hamtramck, a diverse community of long-time residents and recent immigrants, the center also has several classrooms used for arts and crafts, adult education and meetings. A large common room with comfortable seating houses pool tables, foosball and ice hockey tables. This room can also be set up for large meetings or used as a dining area to the adjacent full kitchen and pantry area. Community members also enjoy our full indoor gym and basketball court. More than 250 youth use the center each year and enjoy great programs such as the Youth Stay In School Initiative and many dynamic summer programs. ACCESS (Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services) has an office onsite. This center also provides basic needs services for community members most in need including food assistance, clothing, employment, shelter, medical, and transportation. PCS has amazing success in being a resource for all ethnic groups in this area and encouraging participation from individual groups as well as dialogue between groups.
